Why buy four TRX when you can own one of them?
Blacklake Research & Development recently launched the ultimate truck called XT1. So, what is XT1? In short, this is Blacklake's answer to the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram 1500 TRX. It faces an uphill battle because it starts at $250,000. In short, you can afford a Raptor or TRX, crash it, buy a new one, and still save money than XT1's MSRP. Oops, you can even crash any car twice, but by then, you should really learn your lesson.
For this amount of money, XT1 is best to be special. It began its life with the Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss equipped with an optional 6.2-liter V8 engine, with a suggested retail price of approximately US$48,000.
Blacklake added carbon Kevlar fenders and bedsides, steel reinforced bumpers with hook and loop brackets, carbon titanium hood extractors and integrated LED marking lighting. As you may know, these are expensive materials and are usually made for appropriately exotic ones.
Although a truck like this should look extreme, the most important thing is the following. At the front, the suspension consists of JRI 3-inch adjustable bypass shock absorbers, billet lower control arms, steel upper control arms and large-angle upper ball joints. Blacklake also took the back of the truck into the city. It canceled the factory setting and replaced it with a Blacklake five-link independent suspension setting. It has the same coil over and shock, but the travel of the rear suspension is increased to 17.5 inches. The result is a wheel travel of 11.8 inches. XT1 also has upgraded drive shafts, G-Force Performance Engineering HD half shafts and electronic locking rear differential.
To get more power from the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine, Blacklake uses Lingenfelter x Magnuson superchargers and Borla stainless steel exhaust system to generate 650 horsepower, which is sent to the wheels through a standard ten-speed automatic transmission. This is a huge power, but it is significantly lower than the power RAM provides you in Manic TRX. The task of a set of Black Rhino 17x9.5-inch lock wheels with 35-inch BFGoodrich tires is to transmit all the power to the road.
Internally, Blacklake chose to keep it simple. The seat is made of Katzkin leather and has nothing to do with real cats. In order to be more beautiful, Blacklake used metal decorations from the GM auto parts catalog. The interior also contains a touch screen for all accessories.
Available accessories include Warn winches, AMP Research Powerstep pedals, Rigid Industries fog lights, all-aluminum skid plates and Blacklake spare tire brackets. Although none of the above explains the asking price, there is still something to be said about exclusivity. XT1 will only be customized to ensure that no two trucks are the same. What's the value of that? There is no doubt that it is more unique than the upcoming Silverado ZR2 and F-150 Raptor R.
